The Chemistry Department of the University of Ioannina was founded in 1976 and is comprised of 4 Sections:
• Inorganic and Analytical Chemistry
• Organic Chemistry and Biochemistry
• Industrial Chemistry and Food Chemistry
• Physical Chemistry.
Minimum duration of study: eight (8) academic semesters.
Mission and goals
The Department of Chemistry aspires to participate and contribute to developments in the field of Chemistry. Therefore, the Department has set three basic and achievable goals, which are its further staffing with valuable research and teaching staff, the expansion of its research activities and the continuous improvement of its Programma of Studies. The Department of Chemistry aims to provide its students with the necessary knowledge that will allow them to occupy important and key professional, research or academic positions in the wider field of activities of the science of Chemistry.
