Profile
The Department of Economics was founded in 1996 and operated for the first time the academic year 1998-1999. The Department's mission is to promote knowledge and research in the subject of Economics. Minimum duration of study: eight (8) academic semesters.
Mission and goals
The objectives of the Department are (a) the cultivation and development of economic science, and (b) the training of economists, capable of studying and applying economic theories, contributing to the prediction of economic phenomena and the development of productive activities. In the context of these objectives, the Department has formulated study programmes aimed at the essential and comprehensive scientific training of students with the aim of creating human resources capable of facing the complex challenges of modern society and economy. Additionally, the Department aims to produce and disseminate high-quality scientific research through international conferences, seminars, international exchange programmes and research programmes.
