The Department of Εarly Childhood Education in its many years of development has formed a dynamic framework offered possibilities for learning knowledge, skills and abilities. The Department was founded in 1987. Minimum duration of study: eight (8) academic semesters.
Mission and goals
The Department of Εarly Childhood Education offers a dynamically developing modern undergraduate programme in Educational Sciences and Education for Kindergarten. It is consistent with international theories and practices for kindergarten education and with proggrammes os study implemented by the respective departments in Greece and abroad. The central objective of the Department is the high-level acquisition of knowledge and skills of future Kindergarten Teachers, so that the graduates of the Department will be highly effective in teaching and mediating the learning of young students by activating higher cognitive functions and all types of intelligence in the modern socio-cultural context of the kindergarten.
