By activating their Academic account, users gain access to a range of online institutional and federated services such as:

  • Apella
  • AcademicID (academic identity card)
  • eCourse
  • ePresence
  • Eudoxus (textbook distribution system)
  • ClassWeb (student information portal)
  • Email
  • Drive
  • Office 365 (a collection of tools and services)
  • Digital Signature (available to active permanent teaching staff and active permanent or fixed-term administrative staff)

Prerequisites

Depending on their affiliation with the University, users are informed about the terms and conditions for activating and using their academic account by the appropriate administrative services, which include the Department Secretariats, the Human Resources Directorate, and Special Account for Research Funds ELKE/SARF.

Therefore, to activate their account, users must contact one of the following University services and obtain the necessary activation instructions:

  • If they are students of any academic level (undergraduate, postgraduate, doctoral),
    the Secretariat of their Department.
  • If they are research associates affiliated through ELKE/SARF (Special Account for Research Funds/Research Committee), the ELKE Secretariat at adminsELKE@uoi.gr.
  • If they are permanent or contract staff of the University,
    the Human Resources Directorate at ddioikit@uoi.gr.

Right of access

All members of the academic community with an active legal affiliation to the University of Ioannina are eligible to obtain an Institutional Account, provided they hold one of the following statuses:

  • Students of all academic levels (undergraduate, postgraduate, doctoral candidates, postdoctoral researchers)
  • Faculty members (active members and Emeritus Professors)
  • Technical Laboratory Staff/ETEP (active members)
  • Special Teaching Staff/EDIP (active members)
  • Special Research Staff/EEP (active members)
  • Active members of the Administrative Staff (permanent and IDAX /fixed-term employees)
  • Research program associates (Scientific collaborators affiliated with research programs via ELKE and similar entities)

The Institutional Account is automatically deactivated within a specified time frame following the termination of the user’s legal affiliation with the University. This time frame varies depending on the user’s affiliation status prior to the end of their relationship with the institution (e.g., 30 days for students, 6 months for research collaborators, etc.).
