Profile
The Medical School was founded in 1977. During its years of operation, it provides high-level education for students and produces very important research and clinical activity, that is highly regarded in Greece and abroad. The Department of Medicine of the University of Ioannina maintains a consistently high position in international evaluations and has numerous international collaborations with recognized institutions around the world, while implementing a large number of research programmes and clinical studies. Minimum duration of study: twelve (12) academic semesters.
Mission and goals
The goal of the Department of Medicine is the systematic improvement of academic and research quality indicators and the establishment of the Department as a pioneer and internationally recognized academic center of research, excellence and innovation in the field of Medical Science. An ultimate goal is the production of knowledge and research results of high scientific value. In addition, the Department aims at providing global and multidimensional education that reflects the latest developments in medical science.
