Profile

The Department of Speech and Language Therapy was established in 2018 and is the successor of the Speech Therapy Department established in 1999 as part of the TEI of Epirus. The Department of Speech and Language Therapy is one of three Greek Higer Education Academic Departments with a four-year study cycle, which provides training in speech, speech and voice pathology. Minimum duration of study: eight (8) academic semesters.

Mission and goals

The purpose of the Department is to provide university education for the acquisition of a scientific and professional identity as a Speech and Language Pathologist - Speech Therapist across the age spectrum. The curriculum focuses on providing those tools that will support the understanding, role and analysis of early verbal behaviors in the formation of later communication, combined with the implementation of early developmentally appropriate good practices and multidisciplinary approaches during the early phase of human development.
