The University of Ioannina provides an e-mail account (through the academic account) to all members of the University community.
Activation of the academic account
Once anyone establishes a legal relationship with the institution, they have the ability to acquire an academic account and, consequently, an e-mail address.
The e-mail is provided by Google and is in the format “username@uoi.gr”.
To create an email account, there must be an active academic account, which requires an active academic status.
Therefore, users, depending on their status, should contact and receive activation instructions from the following university services:
- From the Secretariats of the Departments if they are students of any study level (undergraduate, postgraduate, doctoral).
- From the Secretariat of the Special Account for Research Funds (ELKE) at rg.iou@EKLEsnimda if they are a scientific associate through ELKE.
- From the Administrative Directorate at rg.iou@tikioidd if they are permanent or contract staff of the University.
How to access
Type http://email.uoi.gr into any browser (Edge, Mozilla, Chrome, Opera, Safari, etc.) and on the screen that appears, log in with your username and password. You can also access your email from mobile devices through the Mobile App, on Android or iOS.
Deactivation of the academic account
After the termination of the legal relationship with the Institution, the account is automatically deactivated. After a period of 6 months from deactivation, there is no possibility of accessing the account’s data.
