Welcome Message
Dear Colleagues,
Spine surgery represents a dynamic domain within Orthopaedics and Neurosurgery, demanding a blend of profound theoretical understanding and surgical proficiency. This course targets senior orthopaedic and neurosurgery residents along with young spine fellows aspiring to refine their skills in this field.
Participants will delve into comprehensive lectures covering anatomy, surgical methodologies on spine pathology and trauma, indications, contraindications, and instrumentation, complemented by hands-on training using full spine anatomical specimens. The primary goal is to equip attendees with the knowledge and skills necessary for surgical interventions spanning the thoracic to sacral regions, encompassing both open and minimally invasive techniques.
During the course, attendees will engage in practical sessions, maintaining a ratio of one expert to two participants. These sessions will cover various surgical procedures including pedicle screw placement, spinopelvic fixation techniques, lumbar and thoracic osteotomies, interbody fusion techniques, microdiscectomy, and decompression techniques under microscope magnification, all under the supervision of our spine experts.
We extend a warm invitation to join us in this course at the University of Ioannina, aiming to provide a solid foundation for your career journey in spine surgery.
Best regards,
